The first sign of aging are often wrinkles around your eyes, cheeks, forehead and lips. Wrinkles are a normal feature of the human face, but many people feel wrinkles make them look tired or older. To reduce the appearance of wrinkles, some people choose to have botulinum toxin injections (Botox). This is a non-invasive FDA-approved treatment that requires zero downtime. Botox can be used to treat very specific and targeted areas of aging on the face. It is a localized treatment that works to minimize lines and wrinkles in the area where it is injected. If you start your treatments early, you can prevent lines and wrinkles. Once you start noticing fine lines developing Botox will soften and even erase many of the finer lines.

The number of injections administered will depend upon the size of the area being treated and the strength of the targeted muscle. It usually takes about 5-10 minutes to administer Botox injections.

After receiving a Botox treatment, most patients resume their normal routines immediately. You should avoid rubbing the treated area as this may cause the product to move to nearby muscles. Some patients experience minor redness or bruising at the injection site, which can be covered with makeup.

The results of Botox are typically seen within 3 to 10 days. You can expect the results to be maintained for about 3 to 4 months before you need a touch up.
